Students also make written commitments in their mother tongues, affirming:

“We reject violence.”
“We promise to keep our environment clean and tidy.”
“We promise to be good citizens.”

The pledge is available in 22 languages, including Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Assamese, Dogri, Bengali, Bodo, Odia, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Manipuri, Santhali, Kashmiri,Konkanni, Maithilii, Nepali, Sindhi, and English.

On the day of the ceremony, the pledge is recited together in a charged, inspiring ambience, accompanied by cultural programmes such as dance, drama, singing, poster competitions, debates, and essay writing — all centered on nation-building.
